About Us
Computer Support of San Diego was started during the dotcom boom of the late 90's. During this wild time, large corporations and heavily funded startup companies had completely drained San Diego's market of technical talent and expertise. Small and medium sized businesses were struggling to maintain their existing computers and networks, let alone find the talent required to properly implement new solutions and secure their data. Our founder, Tim Doscher, saw this as an exciting opportunity to help out area businesses, not just with day to day support, but with technology that could help achieve their business goals.
The vision was to apply all of the advantages of Enterprise Information Technology and apply it to small and medium sized businesses. Because we focused on technologies that worked and businesses could implement easily, our business continued to grow even in spite of the problems that plagued the stock market, technology companies and the overall economy.
The defining moment came at the point where our founder had the opportunity to meet the famous astronaut, Neil Armstrong. It was during this special moment, when Tim posed this question to the first man that walked on the moon - "What allowed you to keep the faith despite the seemingly impossible challenges you faced?" Neil replied "Our focus was targeted at the success of the mission. Our training, discipline and confidence ensured we maintained our focus." These words inspired Tim to start building a solution from the ground up, one step at a time and never lose focus on our mission.
Over the next several years, we researched, analyzed, built and tested a best of breed solution designed for small to medium sized businesses. We handpicked the best technologies from Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, EMC, Postini and Symantec. We reviewed every datacenter in San Diego, as well as each network infrastructure provider. We developed the most thorough and successful internal training process for our engineering staff. Everything we have done, we have strived for perfection, a level of perfection that would make a difference in our customer's business.
Looking back at the 100,000 plus hours invested in our solution to date, we are grateful for those initial words of inspiration given by Neil Armstrong which helped us as we turned this dream into reality. Just as Neil Armstrong's words inspired our founder, we hope that our expertise, technology and our passion for serving our customers can inspire you to view technology in a new light.
